At her core, Yasemin is an artist. She started her career as an archaeologist (2000), enchanted with the creative process of humans throughout history. As her own life evolved, she began learning and exploring digital art (2006) by manipulating her photographs with geometrical lines and expressing the timelessness of the human body and self-inquiry. She then studied photography in earnest and became a commercial, dance, and portrait photographer (2008).
Yasemin is also deeply committed to community health projects, developing innovative ways to use her camera and herself as a model to make a positive impact. In June 2008, after treatment for cancer, she responded to her illness by creating a photo named “Strength in Hope” emphasizing that people are not alone and that the illumination of creativity diminishes all of our fears.
For the past few years, she has been travelling extensively, shooting stills and moving pictures for a variety of personal and dance projects.
